How to create a website and host it ?

You don’t have to know HTML based web designing or a vast knowledge of HTML codes. You don’t have to pay for a separate web designer to create the website. Its simple. Read this tutorial, follow steps, create a website and host it.

Getting Started

If we want to have a website on the internet we need to have the following.

1. Domain : Basically the name of your website such as, carservice.com or tombakers.com or whatever name you want for your website

2. Host : The place where your data is stored; your texts, videos, images. Its like, you want to have a store or shop in the market (internet) so you have to buy a building or a small place (host) in the market to display your goods and services or what you offer.

3. Website builder : This is the builder which we use to create or design our website. Simply its like, we use MS Excel to create a spreadsheet.

So for this tutorial I am going to use Bluehost.com for hosting and WordPress for designing. WordPress is a free website builder, but we need to buy a domain name and web host. We can find various hosts but I chose Bluehost.com because they offer free SSL Certificate, free domain name, great uptime and 24/7 phone support for a relatively lower price. And WordPress also recommends Bluehost.com for hosting.

Step 01

Check whether the domain name of your website is available and choose a hosting plan according to your preference

Click here to check the availability of your domain name and choose a hosting plan → Bluehost.com I have mentioned above why I chose Bluehost.com

Then fill up your details and proceed to payments to purchase your domain and host.

Step 02

Now you have your space in the internet where you can build your website. Once you purchase the domain and hosting, Bluehost.com will ask you to create an account to login. You have to enter a password and click create account. (Please enter a longer password with a mixture of UPPER CASE, lower case, symbols & numbers to for a high security)

Step 03

Now you have to install WordPress on Bluehost.com
All you have to do is login to Bluehost.com and click skip, automatically WordPress will be installed.

Now go to your email and confirm the email sent by Bluehost.com

Now click home and click login to WordPress and click launch your site.

Now your website is live on the internet. You can search the domain name and check it in any device, browser or simply open a new tab

Step 04

Now your website is live. Any changes made to it will be updated. So now you got to customize the website. So now,

Click Welcome on the black bar and then dashboard.

This is the WordPress admin area. Here you can control the website and make changes and update your website which is live.

Instead of building your website from scratch we can import a template and then edit it making the changes what we want.

To import a template we can install a theme and select a sample website from it. Click appearance and click themes -> Click add a new theme ->Search for Astra which is a really good theme giving us a huge library of websites ->Click install ->activate

Now click get started and select the page builder -> I recommend Elementor because it is easy to edit your website. Once you click Elementor you can choose any design for your website and click import complete site and then click import.

Now you can make changes to your website and update it.

Congratz !!! Now all your have to do is edit it in your preference.
